The wealth of research data and the volume of personal information that the University holds makes it a prime target for external attacks, online fraud and information theft. In recent years there has been a significant expansion in the number of systems on the University network. The sophistication and number of threats have also increased, and that is why effective information security is critical.
The Information Security Team provides the tools, guidance and support to help the wider University manage information-related risks. We also monitor networks and systems to prevent and respond to cyber-attacks.
