Changing Your Enrolment

Courses listed on your confirmation of enrolment are a reflection of your academic program. If these are not correct you will need to make the necessary amendments. You can do this online:

Adding Courses

You may apply to add a course or to change from one course to another, providing you do so formally. You can vary your program on line.

Under a new University rule you only have up until 11:59pm of the Friday of Week 2 of semester or trimester to add courses to your program. After this date you will have missed too much to successfully complete the course. If you want to do so you will need to make an Application for Late Enrolment to the School offering the course.

Courses cannot be added after week two of term:

Semester 1 courses: 9 March 2012
Semester 2 courses: 3 August 2012
Trimester 1 courses: 10 February 2012
Trimester 2 courses: 1 June 2012
Trimester 3 courses: 14 September 2012

Singapore Campus

Block 1 courses: 13 January 2012
Trimester 1 courses: 13 January 2012
Block 2 courses: 9 March 2012
Block 3 courses: 11 May 2012
Trimester 2 courses: 11 May 2012
Block 4 courses: 6 July 2012
Block 5 courses: 7 September 2012
Block 6 courses: 2 November 2012
Trimester 3 courses: 7 September 2012

Withdrawing from courses without financial or academic penalty

You may withdraw from a course without financial penalty on or before the following dates:

Semester 1 courses: 31 March 2012
Semester 2 courses: 31 August 2012
Trimester 1 courses: 20 February 2012
Trimester 2 courses: 11 June 2012
Trimester 3 courses: 24 September 2012

Singapore Campus

It is highly recommended that students seek advice from the Singapore campus regarding withdrawal from courses. Students at the Singapore campus should also read the policy regarding refunds: http://www.newcastle.edu.au/policy/000909.html

In subsequent years the census date for non-standard terms will be different.  You should check these dates with the University.

If you withdraw after these dates, you will be deemed to have been enrolled in the course, and will be liable for HECS payment or program fee.

Withdrawing from courses without academic penalty

You may withdraw from a course without academic penalty on or before the following dates:

Semester 1 courses: 1 June 2012
Semester 2 courses: 2 November 2012
Trimester 1 courses: 27 April 2012
Trimester 2 courses: 10 August 2012
Trimester 3 courses: 23 November 2012

Singapore Campus

Block 1 courses: 19 February 2012
Block 2 courses: 15 April 2012
Trimester 1 courses: 8 April 2012
Block 3 courses: 17 June 2012
Timester 2 courses: 5 August 2012
Block 4 courses: 12  August 2012
Block 5 courses: 14 October 2012
Block 6 courses: 9 December 2012
Trimester 3 courses: 2 December 2012

Withdrawing from Courses containing a Placement

Other than in exceptional circumstances approved by the Head of School, a student may not withdraw from a placement or a course containing a placement after a date determined by the Head of School and advised in the Course Outline. See the Student Placement Policy for further information.
