Accredited Program Pathways for Staff

Would you like to gain an accredited management qualification?

The University of Newcastle Organisational Development team provides University staff and affiliates with the opportunity to choose between two separate pathways to achieve a Diploma of Management:

  1. A face-to-face course (one day a month for eight months).
  2. A Recognition Forum, which involves developing and presenting a ‘Story of Practice’.

In face-to-face courses, a number of prescribed units are studied and evidence from the workplace is used to demonstrate competency.  All management development activities are practical and can be applied to complement the goals of your organizational unit.

Recognition Forums are a great way for your current skills and experience to be evidenced into a qualification.  A Story of Practice is developed which addresses how you have demonstrated the core competencies of the qualification in your work and experience, and then presented at a one-day forum.

Completion of this qualification by either pathway provides articulation and credit into a degree program.  For those staff who already possess a degree, this qualification will provide you with a management qualification that demonstrates current competence.
