Biography

Professor Hogarth is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Science and Information Technology at the University of Newcastle. He has been with the University since 2002. A mathematician by training, he has an undergraduate degree from the University of New South Wales, a PhD from the University of Newcastle and has published in excess of 100 journal articles.

A mathematical modeller who applies his skills and knowledge in soil physics, Professor Hogarth came to Newcastle from Griffith University, where he was Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. Professor Hogarth's work lies in the mathematical modelling of wind erosion, and solute and water transport on the surface and sub-surface of soils.
