Biography

Educated in Scotland at the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde, David has extensive experience in English and Drama & Theatre education as a department head; working in Secondary and Primary schools. He has been an advisor to theatre and media organisations and government, ; curriculum developer; director of international education events, workshops and conferences; theatrical and musician performer, designer and director.

He has been part of examination teams for the SQA and NSW Board of Studies, and the International Baccalaureate. He is the author of eight texts, and was nominated for the 2006 Saltire/TES Scottish Education Publication of the Year.

He is currently completing a PhD on Masks in Secondary Education; consults on Quality Teaching; and works with pre-school children with Dyspraxia.

His most recent text is 'Teaching the Arts: Early Childhood and Primary (2012) published by Cambridge University Press.
