Research expertise

Dr Campbell conducts research on genetic disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders such as 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (also known as velo-cardio-facial syndrome or DiGeorge syndrome/sequence), Williams syndrome & Autism spectrum disorders.

She also undertake mental health research into schizophrenia, postnatal depression and borderline personality disorder.

Dr Campbell utilizes technologies such as functional and structural MRI, diffusion tensor imaging and eye-tracking in her research.

Collaboration

Dr Campbell's primary research area is within developmental psychopathology. In particular, she focus on delineating the behavioural and brain phenotype in people with genetic neurodevelopmental disorders such as 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (velo-cardio-facial syndrome), Williams syndrome and autism spectrum disorders. In particular she is interested in the development of mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression and schizophrenia among people with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome but also on the broader implications of having a neurodevelopmental disorder.

In addition, Dr Campbell is managing a range of research studies looking at the implications of mental health problems on parenting among people suffering from postnatal depression, schizophrenia and borderline personality disroder.
