This could include reducing crime rates with Indigenous youth, increasing job opportunities within minority groups, co-coordinating parent representatives and meetings at a school, extending invitations to community members to attend special events, enhancing community awareness/knowledge about policing roles and responsibilities, working with the police to improve awareness of cultural diversity issues and their relevance to policing priorities, and so on. These generally include, but are not solely restricted to, representing the best interests of the community, and/or group of people you are working with, promoting community projects and services, playing advocate for community members, having a genuine interest in obtaining the best for the community in which you are involved, communicating effectively and building relationships with people from many different backgrounds.
