Graduate recruitment consultants are the intermediary between graduates seeking employment and organisations seeking to hire new staff members into entry-level roles. They need to be able to identify job and person fit, as well as person and organisation fit in order to satisfy both the needs of the potential employee and the organisation. Graduate recruitment consultants are also involved with contributing to attraction of graduates, sourcing potential graduates and briefing them on the opportunities offered by their organisation. They manage the advertising and application process through the interview to offer stage and beyond as well as offering general career advice to candidates.

Being able to work well in a team and individually, good communication and organisation skills are some of the qualities needed by a graduate recruitment consultant. Degrees with a leaning towards management, human resources, marketing and accounting are highly regarded in those applying for this type of position. Some organisations (particularly recruitment agencies) may prefer applicants with experience in sales and customer service.
