Job analysts collect occupational information to determine and define the scope of and tasks involved in roles within an organisation. They might do this by interviewing employees, analysing existing position descriptions and through other types of structured research. The reports generated by job analysts are used predominantly by human resource professionals in designing and conducting recruitment, selection, training, performance reviews and remuneration. This is a reasonably specialised occupation where post graduate qualification may be necessary. Job opportunities generally exist in consultancies and with human resource departments.
