The main objective of this position is to promote the reputation and awareness of a certain brand or an organisation through effective exploitation of media that targets the important client-base and stakeholders. Media and communications managers have the responsibility of producing and delivering high level communications and handling media. In companies with specific brands, a media and communications manager is responsible for guiding leadership groups that mainly focused on industry trends, competitors’ movements and important developments within a specific market. A media and communications manager uses his/her established media contacts to make this brand awareness possible and identify opportunities to maximum media exposure. In most cases, a media and communications manager is also responsible for writing national media releases and managing the production and content of publications of an organisation.
