Grants, Awards and Fellowships
The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) aims to recognise and reward exemplary teaching. Grants, awards and fellowships are an institutional or national acknowledgement of a teaching job well done.
The University of Newcastle holds annual awards to recognise outstanding contributions to teaching. The Vice-Chancellor's Citations are open to all UoN teaching staff.
The Office of Learning and Teaching (OLT) is a federal government body that was established to support teaching and learning in higher education. OLT offers funding for grants, awards, projects, fellowships and secondments throughout the year.
CTL provides support and advice for staff who are planning to apply for teaching and learning awards, grants and fellowships. The Grants and Awards Officer is available to guide applicants through the nomination process, ensuring that the procedure is clear and achievable.
We offer workshops for grant and award nominees and applicants, and help with preparing the components of your application within realistic time-frames. We also aim to match award nominees with a mentor in their discipline area to give additional support.
If you are considering applying for a citation, grant, award or fellowship, please contact CTL as early as possible. The application process can be extremely detailed and an initial meeting with the Grants and Awards Officer will save you time and effort.
