The University of Newcastle is committed to removing the structural, attitudinal and environmental barriers that limit the opportunity for staff and students who have a disability, to contribute and fully reach their potential.
The Disability Action Plan 2007-2011 offers staff and students of the University a succinct statement of the University's goals, strategies and targets for assisting staff and students with a disability over the next few years.
The University of Newcastle's "Working Together Manual" is a great resource for staff who are working with students who have a disability.
National Disability Coordination Officer (NDCO) Program
The NDCO Program is an Australia-wide Government funded Program to assist people with a disability move forward into training, education, and subsequent employment. The Newcastle-Hunter NDCO is hosted within the University of Newcastle.
