HRonline is a web based system which may be accessed at any time of day, either on or off campus. The system is for all University staff including full-time/part-time ongoing, contract, casual and conjoint staff.

The University’s Alesco Human Resource Information System (Alesco) will be upgraded to Version 13 from 2 September 2013.

What is new in Version 13?

Version 13 provides a new ‘look and feel’ and improved navigation for HRonline.

This includes:

ü  3 new tabs on the Login screen providing extra information

ü  Improved navigation for HRonline, with a new menu structure


ü  New Casual Professional Staff Timesheet

Casual Professional staff now have a new timesheet, which makes it possible to submit 1 timesheet for multiple jobs, and select the appropriate approver for each job, from a list of approvers organised by Organisation Unit

There is a new feature which allows for the update of Submitted and Rejected timesheets and the ability to unsubmit and delete timesheets.

ü   Support for a greater range of browsers including Internet Explorer 9, Safari   and Google Chrome


1.  Prerequisites to using HRonline

Before you can use HRonline, you must have accepted the terms and conditions for computing use by logging in here: with your staff number and date of birth.

2.  Creating your HRonline Password:

Once you have completed the steps above, you will have your username, and need to create your HRonline password. Follow the steps below to create your password for HRonline:

  • Click

  • Enter your Username and Password created earlier.

  • You will then progress to a page with 4 tabs.

  • Click on the 4th tab, HRonline Password Reset.

  • Enter your HRonline password, and confirm this password.

Note: your HRonline Password must follow the same rules as your Identity Manager password and must contain:

  • A minimum of 8 characters
  • At least 1 capital letter
  • At least 1 number   and
  • A special character (eg: %, #, @ etc)

3. Logging into HRonline for the first time: 

To access HRonline, pease visit and enter your Uni ID (Username) and the password you have just set.
