Costs

Domestic students studying a postgraduate fee-paying degree must pay tuition fees for their subjects (courses). Fees are published on the University of Newcastle's Fees website. You can pay your tuition fees upfront each term or access the FEE-HELP loan scheme (if you are eligible).

FEE-HELP Loan Scheme

Eligible students can apply for an interest-free loan from the Australian Government through the FEE-HELP Loan Scheme (previously known as the Postgraduate Education Loans Scheme) to cover the cost of tuition fees. FEE-HELP does not cover accommodation and general living expenses.

To be eligible for FEE-HELP, you must be:

New Zealand citizens and Australian Permanent Residents are not eligible for FEE-HELP. Non-Award-Courses are not eligible for FEE-HELP.

Abstudy, Austudy and Youth Allowance

Support schemes are available from the Australian Government to help qualifying students continue their studies. Specific criteria must be met to be eligible. Visit the Centrelink website for more information.

International students
