Biography

Amir currently is a casual academic at Newcastle Business School, University of Newcastle (UON), Australia. His main research interest is in socio-technical systems, sustainable transitions, industry dynamics, innovation networks, open innovation and science, technology & innovation policies, where he has authored and co-authored several academic publications including books, book chapters, refereed journal articles, and conference papers. He has published in several leading journals, including Journal of Clean Production, Transport Policy, and Technological Forecasting & Social Change. He's also reviewers of several leading journals, including Scientometrics, Energy Research & Social Science, Sustainability, and Data in Brief.

He obtained his PhD in Management in June 2021 at UON. In his dissertation, he investigated the socio-technical interactions between technologies using the Technological Innovation System framework. He modelled and simulated the dynamics and co-dynamics of powertrain technologies in a System Dynamics modelling environment (via VENSIM), with a long horizon until the year 2050.

In 2009, he obtained his BSc in Industrial Engineering at Yazd University, Yazd, Iran, and later in 2012 he obtained his MSc. in Management of Innovation & Technology at Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. he has ever since supervised four bachelor students to completion.
